This little project started on New Year’s Day - hungover, wearing footie sweatpants (Feejays obviously) with my husband and puppy on the couch.
I’ve always followed politics closely but 2020 was on another level. I seriously mainlined that shit.
As a marketer I couldn’t help but constantly think of ways we could use high-growth marketing strategies to create a better way to advance our party’s message, policies and impact.
The Republicans have embraced fear as a strategy. And we know that shit works.
What if we embraced a best in class brand married with nuanced, creative and authentic messaging - held to the same standards we hold our favorite companies.
We could do things that are unexpected, playful and real in a sea of political sameness.
So this little project is a thought exercise. A way of thinking through what could be better and what we can add into the mix.
Could be that this is a blog with an audience of one (hi mom!) but these thoughts were too loud to only live in my brain - so out they came.
And thus became Very over the Hill.
